Facebook Ad Account Limits: 50, 250, 2500 — What They Mean and How to Raise Them

Facebook Ad Account Limits: 50, 250, 2500 — What They Mean and How to Raise Them

When media buyers say "BM 250" or "an account on 2500", they mean the daily spending limit: how many dollars a day Facebook lets you spend on ads from one ad account. It is not a balance or a campaign budget, but a ceiling above which ads simply will not deliver, whatever you set in the campaign.

Where 50, 250 and 2500 come from

Meta sets the limit by how much it trusts the ad account and its owner. A new account with no history usually starts at about $50 a day. When the account spends steadily, pays its bills on time and does not collect rejected ads, the limit rises — in buyer talk the next steps are 250, then 1,000–2,500 and beyond. Meta does not publish exact rules, so these numbers are a guide from practice, not a guaranteed schedule.

What the limit depends on

  • Spending history. Even daily spend with no sharp jumps is the main signal of trust.
  • Payment. Declined payments and unpaid bills quickly lower trust in the account.
  • Review. Many rejected ads are a reason for a check and a reason the limit does not grow.
  • Age and state of the BM. An older BM with a clean history, and a verified one even more, gets higher limits faster.
  • Owner profile. An admin account with history and no violations makes the whole structure more resilient.

How to raise the limit

  • Spend steadily every day, close to the current limit, but with no sharp jumps
  • Pay bills on time and keep a working payment method
  • Do not upload creatives that will certainly fail review: every rejection lowers trust
  • Do not abruptly change the geo, currency or payment details in the middle of scaling
  • Expect it to take weeks: the limit grows gradually

When a ready limit is simpler

Growing a limit from zero takes weeks, and a funnel can burn out in that time. That is why teams that need budget now take a ready BM with an already raised limit (250 or 2500), or an agency ad account that starts with a working limit right away. A verified BM gives more ad accounts and more headroom on appeals when a team works with it for months.

Even with a high limit, do not jump from zero to the maximum in a day: a sharp start in spend is one of the most common reasons for a review. Raise the budget in steps, and the limit will work for you.
